About Janet Shingleton

My love affair with photography began early in life, at age 6, with my first camera, a Kodak Hawkeye Instamatic.

In high school I bought my first 35mm SLR, and went on to earn a B.A. in Photojournalism at Stephen F. Austin State University, becoming the first female chief photographer for the school newspaper and yearbook.

Using available light and taking candid shots to capture the mood of the scene, my journalist training still influences my photography today.

My photographs were featured in the Sept/Oct '08 issue of Chicagoland Gardening Magazine. view magazine .pdf here
